It works by interfering with a bacterial enzyme involved in replicating and repairing the genetic material (DNA) of bacteria. If this enzyme doesn't work, the bacteria cannot reproduce or repair themselves and this kills the bacteria and clears up the infection.
What is it used for?
To treat various infections caused by bacteria. These include :
Sinus infections (sinusitis),
